Hello,
Andy Kennedy has done good things for the program. He has kept it afloat and has found ways to win 20+ games almost every season, which is pretty good for us considering that our basketball history isn't very rich. He also has an SEC Championship to his name and 2 NCAA tournament appearances, along with multiple NIT appearances. Needless to say, he has been able to do a lot with a little throughout his career. However, I'm worried about the future. This isn't news, but his coaching scheme seems to lack a vital part of any team - a scheme. He seemingly lets the guys go out and play street ball and chuck up terrible shot after terrible shot. That plan works when we are able to hit shots, but when we miss a bunch of 3's, we literally have no other way to score consistently unless a big man has a career game (like today). AK used to have the Tad Pad and bad facilities, but now he has a great practice facility and an incredible arena. He doesn't have much of an excuse anymore for losing games like today, and we would be wasting all the money we have put into the basketball program if we can't seem to improve. So, keeping in mind that we do have talent on the roster and that Kennedy has most of everything he needs to succeed, how long do we give him before we let him go if this trend of bad play continues? I love him and know him/his family personally, and would really hate to see him go. However, there comes a point when you have to make a change just to see if it works.
Thanks
